The Québec Student Budget Consultation is a financial literacy and civic education program for high school and CEGEP students. The program gives students the opportunity to learn more about government and political issues, debate varying viewpoints about public policy and offer their own opinion on the priorities of the upcoming Québec budget.

THE LEARNING PHASES
To prepare for the consultation, you are encouraged to become informed about the budget, explore current provincial issues and compare differing viewpoints about budget priorities.
There are three learning phases:
- BUDGET BASICS – Learn about the budget basics through a series of non-partisan animated videos outlining the Government of Québec’s revenues and expenditures.
- EXPERT OPINIONS – Listen to journalists as they share which issues matter to them and explain how they could be addressed in Budget 2018.
- PARTY PERSPECTIVES – Compare the ideas and budget priorities of the four parties represented in the National Assembly.
The Québec Student Budget Consultation survey will be launched the week of February 5, 2018 and will be open for submissions until March 2, 2018.
The opinions of hundreds of young Québecers will be compiled and shared with political parties, media and public before the release of the 2018 provincial budget.
